About me

Howdy! My name is Zane Howard and I'm from Krum, Tx. Very few know where that is so I usually just say I'm from Denton which is about five miles East of Krum. I'm Currently a freshman here at Hardin-Simmons University. I'm a Criminal Justice major in hopes to become a Game warden.

I come from a fairly small family with me, my brother Hunter, my father Heath, and my mother Teri. My mom was born and raised in Arlington and my father in a small town on the border of Texas and Oklahoma called Nocona. Nocona in my second home, my favorite place on Earth, and my place of peace. Growing up in a small town like Krum, there was not much to do besides play sports or hunt. High school was some of the best years of my life. Being a captain of the football team and powerlifting team, everyone knew who I was and I was well respected. Throughout high school, I was deep in my faith, but my sophomore year I felt as if I was just playing church, not really knowing what it meant to be a true Christian or why Jesus was our Lord and Savior, so I decided to talk to my uncle who is a pastor in the Houston area. I stayed with him for two weeks and through reading the gospel every night and attending church pretty much every day, at the end of those two weeks, my life was changed forever. My junior came around and Hardin-Simmons defensive line coach, coach Jones reached out to me and presented me with Hardin-Simmons, a place where I could play the sport I love, further my education. and grow in my faith. My visit to HSU was one of the most enlighting events ever, I chose HSU because it felt like home, a place where I could be myself, my first semester at Hardin-Simmons has been hands down the best time of my life meeting amazing people and having grown in my faith more than I could've ever imagined. In life, I live by few rules, never turn your back on family, never stray from the right path, and always keep a pair of spare socks!
